What is Hastelloy B2 Spiral Wound Gasket?
Hastelloy B2 spiral wound gasket is made of V-shape Hastelloy B2 strip tape and soft filler like PTFE or graphite. Hastelloy B2 spiral wound gasket is suited for handling reducing acids at high concentrations and temperatures, also suitable for most chemical process conditions.
What Is Hastelloy B2?
HASTELLOY B-2 is a nickel based alloy particularly suited for handling reducing acids at high concentrations and temperatures. The alloy resists formation of grain boundary carbides in the weld HAZ. HASTELLOY B-2 should not be exposed to temperatures in the 1000 - 1600°F range because of severe loss of ductility. In a vacuum HASTELLOY B-2 may be used from 1600°F to substantially higher temperatures.
Why We Use Hastelloy B2 Spiral Wound Gasket?
The reason for why we use Hastelloy B2 spiral wound gasket is as it has many goods features and advantages like Hastelloy B2 spiral wound gasket resists hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures, has excellent resistance to pitting and to stress corrosion cracking. And it works well in wet HCl gas, sulfuric, acetic and phosphoric acids.
Applications of Hastelloy B2 Spiral Wound Gasket
Hastelloy B2 spiral wound gasket works well in chemical processes, vacuum furnaces, mechanical components in reducing environments.
